Write It Anyway: How Healing Your Story Can Help Others Heal Too The Story Behind My New Book

For years, I carried unwritten chapters inside me—stories of burnout, ADHD, PMDD, and the quiet unraveling that happens when you keep being strong for everyone else. I silenced myself because I thought no one needed to hear it.

But when I finally sat down to write—not for a publisher, not for validation, but to understand myself again—something shifted.

Writing became my medicine.

It became the bridge between pain and purpose, between chaos and clarity. That journey became my first book, The Healing Journey, and it changed my life. But what surprised me most was how many others saw themselves in my words. That’s when I realized: our stories don’t just heal us—they heal others too.

Why I Wrote Write It Anyway

After publishing several books—Return to the Heart, Thriving Naturally with ADHD, and Healing on Empty—one truth kept echoing through my conversations with readers and clients:

So many people have a story that could change lives, but they never share it because of fear.

Fear of not being good enough.
Fear of what others will think.
Fear that their story doesn’t matter.

But here’s the truth I want every person to know: your story does matter.

You don’t need permission to share it. You don’t have to wait for the perfect timing, or for someone to choose you. Healing begins when you choose yourself.

That’s why I wrote Write It Anyway—as both a book and an audio experience on Insight Timer. It’s a guide, a gentle companion, and a call to courage for anyone who feels that whisper inside: “One day I’ll tell my story.”

Storytelling as a Path to Healing

When I began studying the connection between writing and healing, I learned what my nervous system already knew—that expressive writing has the power to regulate emotions, lower stress hormones, and rewire how the brain processes pain.

Each time you put words to what you’ve lived through, you reclaim your power. You release the shame that once silenced you. You make space for healing—not just in yourself, but in others who read your story and finally feel seen.

Writing isn’t just creative. It’s somatic, spiritual, and transformational.

The Write It Anyway Talk and Meditation Series

To bring this message to life, I created a heartfelt talk and companion guided meditation series on Insight Timer called Your Story Is Medicine.

Each session mirrors a theme from my books and leads you through an emotional arc of release, forgiveness, and empowerment.

The Meditations Include

  1. Healing Through Story – Releasing shame and reclaiming your narrative
  2. Return to the Heart – Meeting your inner child with compassion and forgiveness
  3. Thriving with Sensitivity – Embracing ADHD, PMDD, and your nervous system as your guide
  4. Healing on Empty – Restoring your energy as a mother and a woman
  5. Your Story Is Medicine – Integrating your healing and embodying the light you share with others

This series is more than meditation—it’s an invitation to remember that your voice is sacred, your story is medicine, and your vulnerability is your strength.

A Message to the Writer Within You

If you’ve ever felt that quiet nudge—that whisper saying “maybe one day I’ll write my book”—this is your sign.

You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to begin.

Because every story written with honesty becomes a light for someone still walking in the dark.

And when you write your truth—even when your hands shake—you become part of a larger movement of collective healing.

So my love, write it anyway.
